Yoga in Nice

Yoga in Nice

It is fascinating to think that a practice that was considered as an alternative in France only about 15 years ago is now so thriving. Nice jumped on the yoga bandwagon and a lot of small studios have opened in different parts of the city since. It doesn’t come as a shock therefore to discover that many yoga classes in Nice have outgrown their initial audience, to appeal to anyone from the 20-something young students and professionals to seniors.

These days, in Nice you can find yoga studios targeted to international audiences offering classes in both French and English. A lot of instructors would be well travelled and trained abroad which means, they do speak some English. Plus, the Riviera being so multicultural, there is no shortage of foreign teachers. If not, you can always rely on the ‘international language of yoga’, which makes it easy to follow your class even if you don’t speak French. And it is always fun learning a new language via yoga. You might be able to name body parts and animals, used in asanas before you know how to order your glass of wine.

Once yoga becomes a part of your life, even when on vacation, you’ll be curious to check out the local classes. Rather than hiring a private teacher, open classes are a great way of saving for a rainy day.
