New Attestation (23-03-2020)

As you will be well aware by now, travel is prohibited except in the cases listed below and only on the condition that you carry a certificate stating why you are out and for what reason. This certificate (attestation) was updated by a 3rd decree on the 23rd March and now has new questions and a specific line stating the time you left the apartment.

Remember you are not meant to be out more than an hour if it is exercise or pet walking etc. The attestation is available to print / download below (links directly to government website). We have also posted a simple translation for those who may need it.

Why You Can Leave:

Travel between the home and the place of exercise of the professional activity, when they are essential for the exercise of activities which cannot be organised in the form of work from home or professional trips which cannot be deferred.

Travel to purchase necessary supplies for professional activity and purchases of basic necessities [1] in establishments whose activities remain authorised.

Consultations and care that cannot be provided remotely and that cannot be deferred; care of patients with long-term conditions.

Travel for compelling family reasons, for assistance to vulnerable people or childcare.

Brief trips, within the limit of one hour daily and within a maximum radius of one kilometre around the home, linked either to the individual physical activity of the people, to the exclusion of any collective sporting practice and any proximity to other people, either walking with the only people in the same home, or the needs of pets.

Judicial or administrative summons.

Participation in missions of general interest at the request of the administrative authority

Travel between the home and the place of exercise of the professional activity, when they are essential for the exercise of activities which cannot be organized under form of telework or business travel that cannot be deferred²

Travel to purchase supplies necessary³ for the activity professional and basic necessities purchase in establishments whose activities remain authorized (list on government.fr).

Consultations and care that cannot be provided remotely and that cannot be deferred, consultations and care of patients with a long-term condition.

Travel for compelling family reasons, for personal assistance vulnerable or childcare.

1 Persons wishing to benefit from one of these exceptions must bring this, if applicable, when trips outside their home, of a document allowing them to justify that the trip considered between in the field of one of these exceptions.

2 To be used by self-employed workers, when they cannot have proof of travel established by their employer.

3 Including free acquisitions (distribution of foodstuffs, etc.) and travel related to collection of social benefits and withdrawal of cash.
